RIANNE AARTS (founder)

My Story

My name is Rianne Aarts, I'm the owner and artist here at Teddy and Wool.

Ever since I was young I always felt the need to create things of beauty. That need slowly turned into passion and that passion is what drives me to create art.

After having studied at the Art Academy I was worried that I wouldn't be able to make a living as an artist, so I decided to study law instead. I then found myself at a crossroads; working in the field of law or doing what I love most - being an artist. I finally took the plunge and followed my true passion as an artist by starting my own studio in 2016.

... and I'm so glad that I did!

Since then I've been commissioned by hundreds of private clients around the world and by companies such as Google, Starbucks, Hilton Hotels and Majé Paris.

I'd love for you to be part of this journey by making a truly handmade & captivating fiber artwork specially for you.

I can't wait to create your piece!

The visual experience is even better

The "Cascade" art is wonderful!!! I was happy when I got pictures from Rianne, but when it got to me the visual experience was even better. I am glad that such a work of art has appeared in my home. Thank you very much, Rianne.

Why textile art?

Textile and fiber art have been part of our society for millennia, and for very good reason. Apart from being able to add warmth, color and texture to your space, there are a plethora of other reasons to choose textiles over prints, paintings or store-bought (mass) décor:

• Express yourself – Be bold, not boring - and show the world who you are. Each of my pieces is handmade, so not only is it one-of-a-kind, we can work together to make sure that it is the right piece that enhances your space and reflects who you are.

Entertain the senses – Textile art offers depth and texture that flat images can never reproduce. It interacts with light differently throughout the day, and it even softens the acoustic quality of a space.

Handcrafted responsibly - I only use natural fibers, ethically sourced hardwoods, non-toxic dyes and pigments, all to present an honest and fully natural piece that you can love with confidence.

Why choose Teddy & Wool?

I’ve devoted my life to creating singular pieces of beauty, but this isn’t just about me – my passion is about serving my clients and providing them with truly unique aesthetic experiences. When you work with me, you’ll have my full attention as we collaborate to create a one-of-a-kind piece that speaks directly to you and takes your home where you need it to go.

This isn’t just some side hustle or hobby - 100% of my passion is poured into my fiber art, and that makes a difference which my clients experience as soon as they see my work. I would love for you to have that experience as well.
